Meet Ellinor Stenroos of E.V. Stenroos – a contemporary jewellery designer, artist, silversmith and goldsmith with a stunning portfolio spanning more than two decades of experience and accolades.

E.V. Stenroos (“stone rose” in Swedish) launched in Calgary in 2010 – focusing on bold, fine jewellery and contemporary silver art objects with clean lines, geometric patterns and an authentic, modern European influence. The E.V. Stenroos logo tells the story of Ellinor’s heritage through the gemstone and rose blended elegantly as one, and the interlocking O’s in Stenroos are a nod to the exquisite commitment rings for which Ellinor is renowned.
“I am creating something that can be handed down through generations,” says Ellinor Stenroos. “It’s a beautiful keepsake that will bring you joy when looking at it, that you can be part of designing, and with that, you’re creating treasures.”
Originally from a farm in Ostrobothnia, Finland, Ellinor began honing her craft in silversmithing classes in Nykarleby, and studies at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in England in 2002.
Ellinor works with a Scandinavian design influence from her Finnish roots – creating custom jewellery, commissioned objects of art, and functional silverware and tableware in a contemporary aesthetic. E.V. Stenroos pieces are built to become a legacy – whether it’s sought-after engagement rings, wedding bands, earrings or necklaces, in high-karat gold or platinum.
The first decade of E.V. Stenroos saw hundreds of exquisite jewels, silver sculptures and tableware, and contemporary jewellery art brought to life, garnering praise and industry accolades across North America and Europe.
Career-defining milestones include collaborations with fashion designer Lauren Bagliore, bringing a runway jewellery collection to the international fashion arena at the 2011 LG Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz national start-up final at the 2012 World MasterCard Fashion Week. In 2023, E.V. Stenroos jewellery made its sparkling Oscars debut, adorning a duo of Calgary-based nominees on the red carpet at the 95th Academy Awards.
Named “One to Watch” in Western Living’s 2022 Designers of the Year competition and a finalist in 2023, E.V. Stenroos has been featured for outstanding design in fashion, interior design and mainstream media worldwide, including British VogueThe Kit, The Globe and Mail and Fashion Magazine. In 2021, E.V. Stenroos was a finalist in the Fashion category, and also won Readers’ Choice in the Made in Albertacompetition. For four years running in Avenue Magazine, E.V. Stenroos has been voted as Calgary’s Best Wedding Services – Accessories/Jewellery.
“Being trusted to capture and create an important part of someone’s story, in the form of a meticulously crafted piece of art — to either wear or adorn from a distance — is an honour I am endlessly humbled by and forever grateful to be trusted with.”
